Magic Fairies and the Magic Web

Late at night, Landen was still inside the Training Array, carving a piece of Intermediate Magic Beast bone. Back in his homeland, a single bone sphere could be carved with up to 108 layers. Landen did not need that many; four or five layers would be enough to allow for plenty of variations.

Over these past few days of exploring magic, Landen had come up with a new idea: right now, his understanding and release of mana had barely reached the high-rank level, but his mana reserves were at most those of a Senior Mage. As for the Magic Pool that, according to legend, some Archmages could touch upon, Landen could not sense it at all. On the contrary, his Battle Qi had grown quite a bit over the past two days.

If one truly had to define Landen's current profession, the most accurate description would be a Great Knight with the mana reserves of a Senior Mage and the theoretical level of an archmage. And the times when Landen could best bring out his magical level were when he was inside the Training Array, or connected to the Great Fairies, able to mobilize the surrounding Magic Web.

His current state of high theory and low mana was only temporary, but Landen himself was, after all, a magic-pattern mage who relied on arrays. If he wanted to bring out his greatest strength, he needed to simulate a Magic Tower for himself in a high-magic environment.

Starting from above his head, mana would gather, and then dozens of magic-pattern arrays would surround his entire body. The advantage was that it was genuinely complex: with enough magic-pattern arrays, he could handle all kinds of situations.
