Jenny's Problem
When Jenny Gallop opened her weary eyes, she felt as if someone had just fished her out of an endless deep sea. Her whole body was soaked in sweat, and she did not even have the strength to speak.
"Mage Jenny, you're awake?"
An attendant she did not recognize hurriedly ran out of the room, while another picked up a bowl of medicinal broth and said, "Lady Firefly said that once you woke up, you had to drink these potions as quickly as possible. She prepared them specially for you."
Jenny nodded and let the attendants do as they pleased. As her body had grown worse and worse over the past few days, the despair in her heart had deepened as well. Originally, she had only wanted to come meet Landen Gallop in person and see whether members of the same Gallop Family could coordinate with one another. Yet she had never imagined that the appearance of a quasi-Legend foxfolk master would nearly turn her into an assassin attempting to murder Night-Kirin City's chief administrator.
Yet the foxfolk's plot had not succeeded, and her own situation was even worse than if it had. In the confrontation with the foxfolk, she had discovered far too many of that Landen Gallop's secrets, and had been detained outright. From then on, her body had, in the literal sense, grown worse by the day.
When she had just woken up and heard that she needed to drink potions, Jenny had even wanted to say to the attendant, "Just give me a clean end. Stop tormenting me like this." Yet when her lips touched the potion broth, it suddenly felt different.
A warm current flowed down from her mouth all the way into her stomach, and the magic within it rushed into her
