Yet these Elf-descendants ranged from 150 to over 300 years old, and they had spent their whole lives in the megacity of the Imperial Capital. The passage of time had long since worn away their enthusiasm.
The royal family could not grant them fiefs or many Magic Potions, either. All it could do was let them rise to the ranks of Great Knight or Archmage and give them nominal posts with salaries.
So most of them lived with their parents, reading novels and listening to operas every day, and occasionally practicing swordsmanship at the training ground.
