Industrial Zone's New Look
In the morning sunlight, Xiaohua opened her eyes, only to find herself sitting inside a semi-enclosed carriage compartment.
"Where am I...?" Xiaohua suddenly felt as though she had gotten up too abruptly.
"We're on the way to the Industrial New District. Xiaohua, would you like some hot soup?"
The voice came from behind the girl. When Xiaohua turned around, she found a mature woman smiling at her.
"You're... Auntie Kaf?" Seeing the white wolf ears atop the woman's head and the large furry tail draped across her own legs, Xiaohua remembered that this was her father's new girlfriend: Kaf, the half-werewolf.
In principle, Xiaohua fully supported her father Long Hoof taking another wife. She just had rather strong objections to his fondness for women with tails.
Back in the tribe, the Fanil he had taken in had nearly destroyed the entire tribe. Later, after the tribe had been absorbed by the Gallop Family, Xiaohua had always held a grudge against Fanil. But now that they all ate in the same castle as Fanil, there was little she could say.
Yet ever since meeting Fanil, Long Hoof's tastes had become fixed: Half-Deer, Minotaurs, and finally Kaf, the half-wolf girl, caught his eye. It gave Xiaohua a terrible headache.
"You can just call me big sister. I'm only a few years older than you!" Kaf's smile was captivating. If she did not bare that row of sharp teeth, Xiaohua might have liked this stepmother of hers more.
"Long Hoof! Xiaohua's awake! Get over here!" Kaf called toward the carriage door.
"Coming!" Before long, Xiaohua's father Long Hoof and her uncle Kise lifted the carriage door and squeezed inside.
