After reaching an agreement with Yavenni, Landen left the knights to their training and entered Halcala's Temple with the High-Rank Stegosaurus Siviji and several other Stegosauruses.
Since moving in, Siviji had led her clan in helping Halcala. The Stegosauruses were large and strong, hardworking and dependable, and much loved by the Elves. With more Magic Potions to their name, several members of the Stegosaurus clan had also advanced to the intermediate rank.
Siviji's old rival, the High-Rank Spinosaurus Ezama, who had arrived with her, guarded the castle and hunted the various magical beasts drawn to the Magic Tree. The Elves, Magic Tree, and Magic Furnace inside the castle shone like a beacon in the Magic Web, constantly attracting magical beasts that were trying to advance but lacked sound judgment. By guarding the castle, Ezama had an endless supply of delicious food.
Sure enough, as soon as Landen and the Stegosauruses entered the Temple, they saw Ezama paying his respects to Halcala.
"Great Forest Walker, your humble servant Ezama greets you!" The enormous Spinosaurus leaned forward carefully, lowering his massive head as much as possible. The tip of his tail lifted slightly and wagged now and then, making him look like a little dog.
Landen had only just entered the Forest Walker's Temple when he saw the High-Rank Spinosaurus Ezama greeting Halcala like a dog. It was almost too much for him.
"Ah, Marquis Landen, good morning. Thank you for allowing me to come to this great palace and become the Forest Walker's servant. I am willing to serve Her forever!"
This wasn't Landen's first recent visit to the palace, but it was the first time he'd seen a Spinosaurus come to pay his respects to Halcala, the Wood Elf. The Spinosaurus's humility made Landen very uncomfortable.
