Ruler of the Empire

Moirai were the goddesses of fate in Greek mythology, which was why the throne room was also called the Hall of Fate. The name came from something Arcturus Mengsk had once said: the Mengsk Family was most interested in forging its own destiny with its own hands.

The Hall of Fate was where Emperor Augustus received the cabinet, and it was also the pinnacle of Terran Empire power. After all, only a select few could be granted an audience beneath the throne. A thousand banners representing the Empire's various territories hung high around the entire hall, guarding the throne at its center.

Behind the throne stood interwoven statues of an eagle's head and a wolf's head, cast from pure gold with silver crystals set into their eyes. This emblem represented imperial authority ordained by Heaven and the divine right of kings. The red silk carpet beneath the throne bore the words Order and Law embroidered in gold thread. Without a doubt, this was Prince Arcturus's work. Naturally, he did not believe that gods truly existed, but this was a conventional means of strengthening the emperor's authority and securing the right of succession.

Great Emperor Augustus I of the Terran Empire sat upon this imperial throne and ruled the largest empire in the Koprulu Sector. He was the Empire's head of state; once his signature fell upon an official decree, it became law. Once he made the final decision, no one could question his authority.

This was also the White Hall. Its walls and majestic columns had all been cut and sculpted from pure white Luria marble. The inner walls were inlaid with lavish carved murals depicting the many major events in which the Emperor had risen in Korhal, conquered world after world, and finally
