Earlier the next day, after receiving reports from multiple sources, Augustus was convinced that things were moving in a favorable direction. Despite countless setbacks, the surviving Nerazim trapped in Tamateros had managed to board the evacuation ships leaving Shakuras amid chaos and terror.

After confirming that no one had been left behind, Augustus ordered Tamateros abandoned, and all Terran Empire forces withdrew toward the Xel'Naga Temple. Some Dark Templar volunteered to stay behind and cover their human allies, determined to sink with the glorious city into the collapsing void rift.

Their passing was regrettable.

At five in the morning, Augustus's command center had retreated south alongside the evacuating Terran Empire forces and arrived near a facility the Dark Templar called the Zenith Stones.

Several miles away stood the towering Xel'Naga Temple. The massive galleries surrounding it and the grand stone steps that filled the entire field of vision were clearly visible. A gigantic Kydarin Crystal, dominating the sky, sat high atop the temple's cloud-piercing summit, surrounded by blue arcs of escaping energy and raging storms.

Accompanied by senior Imperial officers, Augustus arrived at the foot of the towering stone structure, clad in Power Armor as he moved through the dense forest of obelisks. This astonishing complex of megalithic structures was undoubtedly another masterpiece of the creators, grand and magnificent enough to awe any race in the universe with a brilliant civilization.

"There are three Zenith Stones regulating the immense energy of the Xel'Naga Temple. Only by destroying them can we overload the temple's phase prism." Artanis walked alongside Augustus. Though they came from different races, they knew one another as well as old friends.

"Destroying these great relics makes me deeply uneasy, but compared to the continuation of our people, it is insignificant."

Meanwhile, beyond the Zenith Stones, an irregular
