Imperial troops advanced into the city, soldiers clad in Power Armor and gripping Gauss Rifles marching onto the battlefield amid the forceful clatter of powered boots.
Across majestic plazas and grand monuments, past soaring towers and neatly planned blocks, crashed fighters and vehicles belching black smoke lay scattered over battered brick-paved ground. Charred corpses were strewn among them. As the sky grew dimmer, the glaring red light overhead became ever more conspicuous. Tracer rounds and flashes from explosions pierced the heavens, converging into countless streaks of light.
In the fiercest combat zones, the Imperial military nearly resorted to indiscriminate artillery barrages to suppress the creatures pouring from the void rifts, driving back twisted constructs from the corrupting shadows with world-shattering firepower.
