Echolocation was not some particularly advanced device or ability for the Zerg, who had progressed so far along the biotechnology path.

This function was already present in the export-version Biological Armor used by the Zerg. By that logic, the Zerg Queen's limited-edition set certainly possessed the capability as well.

After the Epoch Clan soldiers activated their stealth ability and used the thick smoke to block Optical Observation, far-infrared detection, heat sensing, and other observation methods, the Zerg Queen seemingly had no choice but to use echolocation if she wanted to continue attacking them and locating their positions.

Although the combat suits blocked all internal sounds, such as the soldiers' breathing and conversations, they could not completely eliminate the noises produced when they came into contact with the outside world. No matter how carefully they moved, traces could still be detected.

But that could only be done in a relatively quiet environment. This presented the Zerg Queen with a major problem: if she wanted to find the Epoch Clan soldiers' locations, she had to slow down, or at the very least, stop casually creating sonic booms.

Yet once she slowed down, the Epoch Clan soldiers could also use the Echolocation System integrated into their individual protective suits. With the aid of their support systems, their chances of hitting the Zerg Queen would increase dramatically.

Previously, because they wanted to capture her alive, the Epoch Clan soldiers had not used lethal force. But now that their lives were threatened, most of them had switched their weapon modules. The only question was whether the Zerg Queen's armor could withstand close-range barrages from antimatter rifles.
