Mrs. Morozumi half-knelt like a considerate housewife and helped Soga Misao to his feet.
"All right, don't keep crouching in front of the cabinet. My husband will be back soon.
"You came to my house today to drink with him, right? Then act like you're here to drink with a friend. Don't keep such a gloomy face—after all, you were college classmates and know each other fairly well. If you act too strangely, my husband will notice. You don't want anyone else finding out about this, do you?"

The three detectives quietly slipped out of the courtyard as well and returned to the secluded alley where they had been keeping watch.

Conan and Hattori Heiji sighed. Thinking of the enormous amount of information they had just overheard, they felt somewhat conflicted.
"A considerable portion of the cases detectives take involve finding evidence that a client's partner is cheating." Jiang Xia glanced back at the fairly nice Detached House. "Some people do it as a routine check because they have nothing better to do, but more often, it's to get evidence for a larger share of the assets—or to offset evidence of their own affair."
Jiang Xia actually liked this kind of case. It was like drawing a lottery ticket. Most of the time, though, he only went once: first to look at the client, then to observe the person being monitored from afar.
If neither of them gave off any Killing Intent, he would toss the surveillance job to his delinquent underlings.
