(Regular readers can skip this chapter; there's a new chapter afterward.)
I can stop writing the novel, but I have to curse people out.
I've actually said this several times before, but maybe I was too tactful and some people didn't get it, so I'll put it bluntly today:
Freeloaders, cherish your chance to speak!
If you just want to have fun in the review section, come on over. Post some dumb reviews, reply to some dumb reviews, and have a laugh together—you're very welcome.
But if you come to say something else—criticize, nitpick, argue for the sake of arguing, spam... you'll soon find yourself thinking, "Hey, why can't I post anymore?! And it's a fucking permanent ban. What did this dogshit author do to me?!"
The exact same thing might be said by a reader who has fully subscribed, and they can still make posts and replies as usual.
But once certain freeloaders with no sense of tact say it, there usually won't be a next time. The lower your subscription value, the longer your mute.
That's just how blatantly I play favorites.
I write novels for the money + the enjoyment. But you neither give me money nor enjoyment, and then you come insult me in my own review section... ptooey! Go away, you're annoying as hell!
PS: The "freeloaders" mentioned above include those big shots who argue over something a thousand chapters in despite having only subscribed to a few dozen chapters, or even just a few.
It also includes non-full subscribers who don't comment on any chapters and just curse in the review section, but whose backend "reading time for this book this week" shows a big fat zero—people who somehow finish the book elsewhere and then come running over to "offer criticism and guidance."
