"From now on, I'm the owner here. But whenever I'm not using it, you can come back and keep running the business. All revenue during that time will be yours."
The store manager: "..."
She hesitated. Mainly because she had never heard such a request before, and instinctively worried there was a catch.
Just as she was thinking that, something flickered in the corner of her eye.
Looking down, she saw the woman in black produce another check. The gesture was just as casual, and the amount was just as shocking.
"..."
A second later, the store manager grabbed her cold hand. "Deal! You want to pretend to be a store manager and experience ordinary life, right? I get it, I get it! I've been wanting to travel lately anyway, so I'll leave this place entirely to you!"
The store manager: "..." A catch was fine too. Unless the other party could somehow swindle away the entire plot of land, that money would be enough for her to build another store from scratch, fully furnish it, and still have plenty left over.
The store manager was a straightforward person.
After making her decision, she took this oddly demanding customer around the store, explained some points to keep in mind while running it, and gave her a basic rundown of its procedures.
During the explanation, she secretly glanced at the woman in black and found that the other woman was actually listening attentively.
The store manager quietly sighed in relief. It seemed she had overthought things. This was probably just an ordinary experiential transaction.
Once she had finished explaining everything, the store manager jogged into the bedroom at the back, quickly packed her suitcase, then happily tucked the two checks away and prepared to set off on an impromptu trip.
