She then pulled the fishing line all the way into the 7th floor office, looped it around the light switch by the door, and finally drew that section of line to the window and tied it to the Insulating Tape she had just applied.
"Once everything was set up, all it took was for someone downstairs to call the elevator. The elevator would descend from the 7th floor, pulling the fishing line with the elevator car. First, the room's light switch would be tugged and the lights would turn on. Then the upper end of the Insulating Tape on the window would also be pulled downward by that force.
"In this way, the 'human silhouette fallen against the window,' made from that mass of tape, would be pulled apart from top to bottom. From outside, looking up, it would seem as though, after the lights came on, someone who had been leaning by the window had hurried toward the door and fled."
