Jiang Xia looked at the receipt in Inspector Yassa's hand and rose to his feet. "Leave the remaining clues in this room to your Forensics Department. As for where to catch the suspect now, I think we'd better check this building's back door."
"The back door?" Inspector Yassa stood up as well and handed the slip of paper to a subordinate nearby.
He wiped his hands and pondered for a moment before understanding. "Right. The person who fell from the building had only just hit the ground when a huge crowd of passersby gathered. The culprit probably wouldn't dare leave through the front entrance..." Inspector Yassa waved a broad hand, calling to his men. "Let's go! Go downstairs and take a look."
The group thundered down the stairs toward the back door.
At the door, a closer look showed that it was locked from the inside. There was even a door chain hanging on it, making it impossible to open or close from the outside.
Jiang Xia examined the chain carefully. "There are no traces of tape or fishing line. The culprit probably didn't leave through the back door."
Sergeant Anna quietly reminded him, "The person who fell is still being resuscitated. They may not die in the end, so calling someone the 'culprit' isn't quite appropriate yet."
