Conan, meanwhile, was pacing around nearby in frustration, wanting to gamble that the killer had not gone far and was still mixed in with the surrounding crowd.
The Lighting Platform on the second floor was quite narrow. After the shooting, Conan had immediately looked over there and successfully spotted the person standing on it.
The person who had put away the gun had their face obscured. Conan had only seen half of the killer's body—from the clothes and build, it was clearly that sunglasses-wearing man who had caught his suspicion earlier. He planned to do everything he could to find him.
Inside the banquet hall.
Jiang Xia had successfully kept a colleague behind to work overtime with him.
After comforting the "innocent waiter who had been badly frightened by the shooting," he felt it was not yet time to solve the case. Still, as a Detective, he could not just stand around spacing out forever.
So Jiang Xia planned to go scout for clues with Conan.
But then, his phone suddenly vibrated. He had received a message—Gin seemed to be looking for him.
"..."
Jiang Xia glanced around and found that Conan had run outside again, while no one else was paying much attention to him.
So he casually dialed the number. "What is it?"
Inside the Black Porsche, Gin fell silent for a moment at that completely guiltless tone.
A second later, he spoke again, his voice icy. "I thought you would at least have the patience to wait until the award ceremony was over. To avoid interrupting the ceremony, the councilman's death had even been postponed by a day."
"He was actually an Organization target? What a coincidence." Uzo sounded somewhat surprised on the other end, yet still showed no reflection whatsoever over having done anything wrong.
