He had previously thought that Hashimoto Maya had been lurking on the island and following their group with ill intent.
Yet the sudden incident just now had made Conan feel like he could not quite figure this guy out: he had not expected "Mr. George" to instinctively try to save someone... Had he misunderstood him before?
And although Hashimoto Maya's attempt to save someone had indirectly led to another person being hurt, the shock he showed upon seeing Kurosawa Kazuma struck by the arrow, as well as his sincere desire to save him, did not seem fake.
These slightly conflicting deductions left Conan briefly confused.

Toda Kiwako had yet to recover from the shock when the dark-skinned guy cried out in anguish, "That damned murderer actually dared to do something so utterly insane!"
Jiang Xia's ears hurt from his shouting. He walked into the dining room. "What happened?"
