The butler did not have any particular issue with Rum. It was simply that, strictly speaking, the order to transfer someone had been sent out after he had inferred the Boss's intentions.

He had assumed someone would carry it out immediately, yet after so many days, he looked back and found that the person was still being held by Rum.

The butler: "..." He certainly would not hold a grudge over such a trivial matter, but there was naturally no need to cover for Rum over it either. He only needed to tell the truth.

Rum and Uzo appeared vastly different at first glance, yet their methods actually overlapped somewhat—in their dealings with others, both preferred controlling their colleagues rather than following someone else's orders.
