Compared to last night's troubles, the daytime was incredibly peaceful.
By afternoon, Conan yawned, then sneezed after being choked by the dust kicked up around him. Rubbing his nose, he looked at Professor Agasa's house, which had been torn apart from top to bottom. "Where did that disk go?"
Professor Agasa thought for a moment. "Could we have taken it with us when we went out?"
"How could that be?"
Conan was refuting him when his phone suddenly vibrated with a ring—someone was calling.
Conan took out his phone, glanced at the screen, and answered. "Hattori? What is it? I'm busy right now."
"What could an elementary school student like you possibly be busy with? Don't tell me you're doing homework?" Hattori Heiji's boisterous voice came from the other end.
"It's the weekend. Relax a little—anyway, I wanted to ask when you're coming to Osaka. That restaurant's opening ceremony is the day after tomorrow. If you show up too late and miss it, don't come crying to me."
Even Hattori Heiji was looking forward to the opening ceremony. "If my parents didn't have plans this week and couldn't go, I wouldn't even have a spot to bring you—three celebrities jointly opened that restaurant. They invited loads of big-name stars to the ceremony, and banquet slots are in short supply. I specifically saved you a seat, so? Aren't you touched?"
"Very touched." Conan humored him perfunctorily, then could not help saying, "But what does that have to do with me? I don't chase celebrities. Even if I wanted to, couldn't I just ask Jiang Xia to get me an autograph? He occasionally goes to the TV Station to record shows. What star wouldn't he get to meet?"
"You brat..." Hattori Heiji fell silent for a moment, his tone suddenly turning suspicious.
