"Vermouth, disguised as that doctor?"
Amuro Tooru narrowed his eyes and glanced at the vehicle diagonally ahead, staring suspiciously at the strange minibus whose style clashed completely with that of an Organization Cadre. "What is that woman up to now?"
Looking more closely, he could make out what seemed to be several other people seated in the back. But the angle blocked his view, so he could not see them clearly.
The person in the passenger seat, however, was plainly visible before his eyes.
"That Vermouth actually went and approached Jiang Xia on her own again." Amuro Tooru's eyelid twitched, and his fingertips could not help rapping hard against the steering wheel. "Do these people not have subordinates of their own?"
Even if she had no subordinates, surely she had at least one lapdog. Calvados was in Tokyo too, so why had she not gone to him if she needed something?
"Or is Calvados actually there too, just sitting in the back?"
Thinking this, Amuro Tooru shifted his gaze farther back and began staring intently into the rear of the vehicle. At that moment, the traffic light changed. The red light turned green, and the minibus slowly drove out of the intersection.
Amuro Tooru got his wish and saw the other people in the vehicle. Yet he froze when he looked at the driver's seat. Contrary to his expectations, there was no Calvados in the back, nor were there any other Peripheral Members—the first things that entered his sight were actually three Tokyo Police officers who looked rather familiar.
Farther back sat a blonde foreign woman who maintained a subtle distance from the others. Besides her, there were three faces even more familiar than the police officers'—Jiang Xia's high school and elementary school student friends were all in the vehicle
