Beside him, Mouri Ran had already picked up her phone and called Kisaki Eri. Once the call connected, she briefly explained the new commission Mouri Kogoro had received.
"Oh? Someone wants to kill that client's husband, and it's someone from within their own family?" Kisaki Eri tapped on her keyboard with one hand as she casually chatted with her daughter. "When human lives are involved, no commission fee is too high. But they don't even know the exact circumstances and they're offering ten million right away? That sounds awfully frivolous... So what happened in the end? Did your father catch the person who wanted to kill someone?"
Mouri Ran sighed at the mention of it. "Dad said he found time to visit that rich man's home. Before he went, the wealthy wife said she had lots of evidence and clues, but when he actually got there, he found that the so-called evidence was completely useless."
Though she had put it tactfully enough, Kisaki Eri still understood. "Heh, in simple terms, that guy couldn't handle the commission, right? Just as I thought. How could there possibly be such a good deal falling from the sky? Fine, tell him that instead of finding time to drink, he should hurry up and return that unreliable commission."
