Akai Shuichi watched Amuro Tooru with a complicated look. Just then, he suddenly sensed that something seemed off.

—This former colleague of his was not the talkative type. Even if he truly wanted to talk, he would never let it delay what he was doing.

And as Akai remembered, whenever Bourbon stopped what he was doing to focus on talking like this, he was either gathering intelligence or... waiting for something.

Akai Shuichi: "..."

Remembering that he had been waiting for his FBI companions while Bourbon had been waiting for the police to surround the FBI, Akai narrowed his eyes, catching the scent of a conspiracy.

With his suspicions raised, Akai Shuichi looked around—and sure enough, he spotted a problem.

—Something was moving beneath the distant bridge arch.

Looking closely, they appeared to be small boats rowing over from the other side of the bridge. They were passing beneath the arch, intending to come this way.

Noticing his gaze, Amuro Tooru turned and glanced over as well. Seeing those boats, he showed no surprise whatsoever, merely giving Akai Shuichi a malicious smile. "You said it yourself, didn't you? A lone wolf can't defeat a wolf pack."

Akai Shuichi heard the exceedingly familiar words. "..."

He really did hold grudges. But then again, this former colleague wasn't serious, was he?

Across from him, Amuro Tooru rolled his shoulders. He was indeed very serious. There were too many people on shore, so he could not capture Akai Shuichi together with the police. Even if they really caught him, there would be no way to make Akai Shuichi count as Bourbon's achievement.

But out at sea, things were entirely different.

The sea was pitch-black. Trying to make out what was happening here from the chaotic, smoke-shrouded shore was harder than reaching the heavens.
