"Anyway, judging by Uzo's habits, what happens this year will be very similar to what happened three years ago."
And what had happened three years ago?
Curacao reviewed the news from that time, then looked over the report she had just stolen from the Metropolitan Police Department. She quickly grasped the key point—the bomber would plant two bombs, and one of them would be placed somewhere densely populated.
Avoiding that seemed simple enough. She just had to stay away from crowded places.
But on second thought, this was Tokyo. Where was there anywhere that wasn't crowded? Even a random Office Building or Apartment would be enough for the bomber to achieve his goal.
"Thinking in the worst possible direction, there might already be one planted in this building."
Curacao sighed soundlessly. "Unlike this bomb, the other one will be planted somewhere with few people, a place only the police will reach after following the bomber's clues... In other words, even if I flee to the suburbs, I might not be able to avoid it. The open terrain might even mean the bomber won't need to worry about the consequences, letting him plant an especially massive bomb to get the result he wants."
Crowded places were no good. Places with few people were even worse.
...Couldn't that bastard Uzo leave behind one safe zone for his innocent coworkers to hide in?
"Forget it. I should stop dreaming." Curacao pressed at her brow. "Never mind a safe zone—he probably wants to drive all of us straight into Hell."
Her superior was unreliable, she couldn't trust the police, and her fellow operatives were even less worth mentioning... If she wanted to escape Uzo's clutches, she could only rely on herself.
Suddenly, an idea struck Curacao. "Where is Bourbon now?"
