"?!" Kisaki Eri staggered and fell, landing on the floor as she stared blankly and incredulously at the people in the elevator.
She saw the child calmly lower the hand that had pushed someone. She saw Miss Shirai snap out of her daze and bury her head as she rushed toward the elevator exit... but it was already too late—Boom! An explosion rang out from the elevator shaft. Amid the tourists' cries, the elevator jolted violently and plunged straight down.
Curacao, suddenly weightless: "..."
Curacao: "...¥%&#!!"
A few minutes later.
Officer Takagi's car arrived beneath Tokyo Tower, its police siren wailing.
Jumping out of the car, Officer Takagi looked at the thin trail of black smoke rising overhead and slapped his forehead in frustration. "Still too late."
He lowered his head and told the children in the car, "I'm going over to check the situation. You all stay in the car and don't go anywhere—understand?"
The children nodded obediently.
Officer Takagi shut the door and rushed over.
Beneath Tokyo Tower, aside from the onlookers gathered to watch the excitement, there was also a large group of reporters.
The reporters had arrived long ago. They had already set up their Cameras and begun a live broadcast.
The host looked solemnly into the camera. "We came to Tokyo Tower today to film a special program for the mascot, but an explosion suddenly occurred here. The content of this program has therefore been changed at the last minute. We ask for everyone's understanding."
The audience was very understanding. What was there to watch about a mascot recording? Ratings shot up rapidly.
Officer Takagi hurried over. While reporting by phone, he asked the mascot standing nearby and staring blankly upward, "What happened here?"
"The culprit planted a bomb in Tokyo Tower?!"
