"Usually, picking wrong wouldn't be a big deal. After all, it's one out of three—a 33% chance. If your luck is bad or your mind is muddled, it's normal to pick wrong every time," Vodka thought.
"But this time, Curacao picked the victim, yet none of these four anglers died. This..."
It was hard not to think of Uzo's behind-the-scenes manipulation!
Vodka looked at his Computer, and a chill suddenly ran down his back. Was it possible that someone had seen both Curacao's choice and everything happening in the Passerby Mutual Aid Association, then deliberately targeted them?
Vodka could no longer sit still.
He immediately began checking the backend, breaking out in cold sweat. Yet no matter how he investigated, there was nothing wrong with it: Uzo had not secretly infiltrated his Passerby Mutual Aid Association and lurked there to watch from the shadows.
"Thank goodness." Vodka let out a heavy sigh of relief and slumped back in his chair—the worst had not happened. In this cold world, only warm data would never lie. There was no trace of Uzo here, which meant he had not infiltrated it.
"So either information leaked from somewhere else, or Curacao is truly unlucky beyond measure, or her thought process is completely opposite to Uzo's..."
"Don't panic! Let's keep watching."
Vodka drew a small measure of Sense of Security from his hacking skills. He started another run of the backend's kill-checking program, fiddling with the data while placing the Breakwater surveillance feed beside it.
Outside the surveillance footage, the people happily fishing had no idea they were being watched from behind the scenes.
The Captain skillfully docked the boat, hopped onto the Breakwater, and waved to the group. "How's the catch?"
He had really brought up the one thing nobody wanted to discuss.
