Vermouth listened and listened, and somehow, it actually made a bit of sense.
Moreover, hearing Uzo put it that way, she suddenly thought of several colleagues who had suffered plenty at his hands:
No wonder Uzo was always so determined to drag spectators in to appreciate his "plays," even seeming willing to use any means necessary to bring people in—probably because, in Uzo's eyes, the "plays" he planned were actually very boring. The only interesting parts were the murderers and victims genuinely struggling in their hatred, and the reactions the audience gave to it.
"..." Understanding was one thing, but Vermouth had not given up on her plan to "get Uzo to reveal what exactly he wanted to do to Mouri Kogoro."
Without showing a trace, she set down the somewhat comical draft beer glass, folded her arms over her chest, and added a little bait:
"That may be true, but the unknown is always alluring... If I see the hard work behind the scenes, perhaps I'll gain more insight when appreciating your 'art' in the future."—She was subtly implying that if Uzo was willing to give her a spoiler about Mouri Kogoro, she could voluntarily come to him as an audience member afterward, and give him a reaction satisfactory enough for Uzo.
Jiang Xia silently glanced at her.
"..." Why did she make it sound as though he loved "inviting people to watch murder cases"? He was only trying his best to mooch off his companions' Case Magnet Constitution.
As for whether those companions wanted to solve the case or watch after something happened... none of that mattered. As long as a case was triggered, they could go elsewhere to catch up on sleep if they wanted.
Still...
Jiang Xia thoughtfully rubbed his chin.
