Gin works on the Black Organization’s front lines, handling killings, silencing operations and mission planning. Vodka regularly accompanies him, while Gin also directs other operatives and sniper teams. He evaluates subordinates for usefulness and obedience, but is willing to invest in exceptional talent 43 156 716 2562.

Gin struck Kudo Shinichi and forced him to take the experimental drug APTX4869, believing he had silenced the detective. Kudo’s survival later becomes a potential weakness that Irish investigates 374 1616.

Appearance

Gin is a tall, intimidating man whose long silver hair makes him recognizable even when his face is obscured 2 1168.

Personality

Gin is disciplined about operational security and expects orders to be followed. He values initiative when it benefits the Organization, but distrusts subordinates whose independent decisions threaten his control 699 2942. His judgments can also be stubborn: Jiang Xia observes that once Gin settles on an explanation, changing his mind is difficult 392.

His treatment of Uzo combines investment with suspicion. Gin wants the young operative’s detective identity preserved, yet grows wary of being drawn into Uzo’s schemes. Despite his readiness to use violence, he can restrain himself when an attack would achieve nothing 704 1098 1169.

• Gin is an experienced front-line fighter, not merely a gunman. In a sparring match with Cito, he lands a powerful kick, recovers after being thrown and continues fighting 716 717.
• He takes part in sniper operations and directs Chianti and Korn. He recognizes how a small timing error in their shots allows Akai Shuichi to escape 2562 2580.

Planning and security

• He plans killings around withdrawal routes and evidence removal, using other members to retrieve material from crime scenes 384.
• He is difficult to track to a residence; locations Jiang Xia follows him to prove to be Organization safe houses 502.
• After an encounter with Anonymous, he suspects his safe house has been compromised and leaves it 1199.
