Chapter Summaries

Sawaki Kohei, trapped underwater and abandoned by the others, nearly detonated his bombs to kill them all, but Jiang Xia’s Mermaid stopped him. The survivors escaped through a breach, while Sawaki remained on the seabed with the Mermaid.

• Sawaki Kohei grew furious as he watched the others prepare to escape without helping him.
• Sawaki Kohei pulled out the bomb Remote Control and tried to detonate the explosives, but the Mermaid seized his arm and took it from him.
• Jiang Xia urged the group to swim through a breach in the restaurant, and Officer Shiratori and Shishido Eimei offered to help Inspector Megure and Nishina Minoru.
• Mouri Ran noticed a Curtain pinned beneath a Ferrari but left it behind as she helped Jiang Xia reach the breach.
• After everyone else escaped, Jiang Xia’s Mermaid freed the Curtain and saw Sawaki Kohei glaring at the exit before turning toward the Mermaid.

Jiang Xia used his mermaid Persona to confront Sawaki Kohei, who drowned after learning that the mermaid and Jiang Xia had been manipulating him. The survivors escaped the Seabed Restaurant and were rescued, while Sawaki Kohei’s disappearance left Inspector Megure expecting to issue a wanted notice.

• Sawaki Kohei recognized that Jiang Xia and the mermaid viewed him as prey and asked what they were; the mermaid, Nishina Minoru, claimed they were ordinary humans and his closest kindred spirits.

• Jiang Xia waited on a speedboat while the Mermaid transported Sawaki Kohei’s Killing Intent and three Shikigami ashore.

Gin and Vodka discussed Uzo’s dangerous behavior after the seabed serial murder case, and Gin decided that the organization needed to address the risk of Uzo dying before he could fulfill his potential. Gin asked about Uzo’s psychiatrist, and Vodka revealed that the doctor had been arrested after Uzo stopped him from fleeing a murder.

• Gin read about the seabed case and criticized Uzo for joining the dangerous operation in person.
• Vodka warned Gin that Uzo’s apparent disregard for his own life could cause the organization a major loss.
• Gin agreed that Uzo’s death would waste his potential to infiltrate political circles and carry out assassinations.

Hijikata planned to murder his wife with Jiang Xia present as a witness, unaware that Jiang Xia had sensed his killing intent and was eager to go.

• Jiang Xia tried to visit Professor Agasa for breakfast, but the professor was still asleep; later, the professor made no mention of the trip.

Amuro Tooru searched the organizer’s room and found incriminating materials linking Kamijo Satoshi to the Night Baron scheme.

• Jiang Xia poured out the drugged water, but Conan drank the half cup of water he had left on the table and collapsed from the Sleeping Pills.
• Jiang Xia checked Conan’s condition, concluded he was unconscious rather than poisoned, and put him to bed while Haibara Ai examined the cup.

Amuro Tooru searched the organizer’s room for the Night Baron virus but found clues that made him suspect the organizer, while Jiang Xia decided to let the organizer’s murder plan unfold so he could collect Ghosts. Haibara Ai worried Jiang Xia had been drugged, but he woke briefly to tell her the organizer had put Sleeping Pills in the water and ask her to cover for him before pretending to sleep again.

• Amuro Tooru searched the organizer’s room for the Night Baron virus, found no information carrier, and noticed Jiang Xia was missing from the hall.
• Jiang Xia concluded that Amuro Tooru’s investigation threatened his plan, so he took harmless Anesthetic from his luggage and chose to let events proceed.
• Haibara Ai rinsed Jiang Xia’s teapot and then found him apparently unconscious on the sofa.
• Haibara Ai feared Jiang Xia had accidentally been drugged and considered leaving to protect the others.
• Jiang Xia suddenly sat up, told Haibara Ai that the organizer had probably put Sleeping Pills in the water, and asked her to say he had drunk the other half and slept all night.
• Jiang Xia pretended to be unconscious again, and Haibara Ai asked whether he had identified the organizer.

Jiang Xia used a puppet to anesthetize Amuro Tooru after Amuro checked on him, Haibara Ai, and the unconscious Conan. He hid Amuro in his room, leaving all three Detectives unconscious.

• Haibara Ai covered Jiang Xia with a blanket and pretended to be a child when Amuro Tooru entered the room.
