Chapter Summaries

Jiang Xia went to the Bincheng Museum to take Kid’s Energy Core and discovered a strange black line linked to the thief. Meanwhile, Koizumi Akako prepared a spell to make Kid submit, having deduced that Kaito Kuroba was Kid.

• Jiang Xia sent his Shikigami and Ghost Fetus into the Mist Tengu puppet and flew to the Bincheng Museum after dinner.

On Valentine’s Day, Koizumi Akako prepared enchanted chocolate for Kid, while Kid’s attempted theft of the Red Ghost went awry when the police filled the exhibition hall with Hypnotic Gas. Jiang Xia rescued the drowsy Kid and escaped with him, taking the gem Kid had offered.

Jiang Xia entered Koizumi Akako’s Magic Array and found its powerful Magic Power a rich source of Energy Cores. As Koizumi descended to offer him her specially made chocolate, he was busy harvesting the array’s energy.

• Jiang Xia sent his Ghosts to collect Energy Cores from Koizumi Akako’s crows, throne, and surroundings while he examined the Magic Array below.
• Koizumi Akako decided to use her Curse and Magic Chocolate to make the Mist Tengu submit to her.
• Jiang Xia flew into the Magic Array, which activated and transported him to the street below, leaving Koizumi Akako puzzled by how smoothly her plan was going.

Kid and Jii Konosuke found the hidden space where the array was located, and Koizumi Akako prepared to force the chocolate into Jiang Xia’s hand as her Magic Power dwindled.

As Akako struggled to understand why two apparent exceptions to her magic were present, Kid suspected the Tengu had deliberately sabotaged his escape to keep eating the array’s magic.

• Kid swung into the Magic Array on a rope, but it snapped and the Mist Tengu caught him and tossed him aside.
• The array’s Magic Power immobilized Kid, and he suspected Koizumi Akako had cut the rope before realizing she seemed just as confused as he was.
• Kid pulled out a Tranquilizer Gun, but the Mist Tengu accidentally struck him with a wing and knocked the gun from his hand.
• Kid noticed the Tengu’s familiar gem-munching behavior and the fading array, then suspected it had been consuming the Magic Power while pretending to be trapped.

• Koizumi Akako's servant told her that Mist Tengu were said to abduct and hang their prey, and Koizumi Akako realized Jiang Xia could cut off her Magic Power.
• Koizumi Akako tried to plan how to survive the Mist Tengu, but Jiang Xia brought her down to a tree, where she fainted from fear and exhaustion.
• Jiang Xia left Koizumi Akako for her servant to collect and returned to Beika Town with the Energy Cores he had gathered.

Jiang Xia created an independent puppet for Miyano Akemi and let her choose what to do, only to discover that she intended to sneak away and visit Haibara Ai. He possessed the puppet to observe her as she entered Professor Agasa's house and headed for the laboratory.

Koizumi Akako fed the heart-shaped chocolate to Mist Tengu, believing she had made him her captive and could use him to capture Kid. Instead, Mist Tengu carried Akako away, leaving Kid free but unable to track them.
