Shimura Xian Yu's Kekkei Genkai

"Hoe the grain at noon, mining sure is rough~ All you dig up is copper, purity only five. To numb the living, revive the dead, slay the dragon... running around for a whole lifetime~" Xian Yu had gotten up early to start his mining operation. As he dug, he even began humming to himself.

A few minutes later, Shinozaki Ayumi came stomping downstairs, fuming. "Young master! You're not going to wash up or eat breakfast? Look at Might Duy! He started running laps around Konoha with weights before sunrise!"

Shinozaki Ayumi was genuinely angry. Her young master had always been lazy, but at least he'd never missed a meal, and he'd never skipped his daily lessons. But lately, he'd been downright infuriating. Humming all sorts of incomprehensible tunes was one thing, but when she tried to drag him off to eat, he'd complain about things like, "You wouldn't understand. I'm spending every day in the pig cave, searching for a noob. I stayed up for several nights just to gain one level..."

After Shinozaki Ayumi had roughly washed his face and brushed his teeth for him, Xian Yu ate the noodles, which had swollen into a mush, with tears in his eyes.

He hadn't neglected his training lately, either. Every night before bed, he used Palm Thunder to temper his body. Once his chakra ran out, he began extracting more. He only went to sleep once he was completely exhausted. The results were every bit as good as a full day of Might Duy's hard training. The pain he endured even far surpassed Might Duy's physical training...

"System, I want to open the Black Iron Treasure Chest." Xian Yu stared at the last Black Iron Treasure Chest. The first two had given him Sexy Jutsu and Thousand Years of Death... He'd come to treat opening these chests as a bit of fun. He just wanted to see what other ridiculous thing the system might give him...

"Host has opened a Black Iron Treasure Chest. 15 diamonds consumed. Remaining balance: 44 diamonds."

Xian Yu froze. Had he heard that right? The system wasn't messing with him, was it?

The next moment, Xian Yu felt something strange change within him. Without thinking, he looked at a girl standing by the front counter, waiting for her burger.

Akagi Haruko was a prodigy of Konoha's Akagi Clan. She and her older brother, Akagi Takenori, who was three years her senior, were hailed as the twin stars of the Akagi family! She had graduated from the Ninja Academy at the age of seven, two years ago, and was now a newly promoted Chunin at nine. Her talent was terrifying! There were even rumors she'd already surpassed her brother.

Recently, she'd discovered a strange new shop. Why strange?

Because the shop not only sold a communication device called a Fruit Machine, but also sold top-up cards. You could even use the virtual coins you added to your account to buy all kinds of food there.

On its first day of business, it had sold rice, cola, and fried chicken. Later, it introduced something called a hamburger, followed by many other new foods.

By now, this shop called the Xingxin Internet Cafe not only sold the most fragrant and delicious rice in all of Konoha at market prices.

It also offered a unique selection of delicious foods and drinks: cola, Sprite, milk tea, coffee, hamburgers, French fries, fried chicken, and oden.

Ever since Akagi Haruko had tried fried chicken and a hamburger with cola, she'd become a regular. If she didn't have a meal of fried chicken and cola one day, she felt uncomfortable all over.

Today, she came to Xingxin as usual and ordered a hamburger, a spring chicken, and a cup of cola. Since the hamburger and chicken were made fresh, she leaned idly against the front counter and waited.

Then something strange happened! Her vision blurred, and she found herself standing in a vast grassland. In shock, she instinctively tried to form hand seals and perform a ninjutsu, only to discover that the chakra inside her was as still as a pool of dead water. She couldn't use any ninjutsu.

Then, for no apparent reason, a few leaves drifted down from the sky. One of them even cut her finger...

Just as fear filled her heart, everything suddenly vanished.

She was still leaning against the counter. The hooded girl across from her, who had a lovely smile, said gently, "Your order is ready. Thank you for your patronage. Please come again."

Akagi Haruko dazedly took the food box. Seeing a leaf in her hand and a tiny streak of blood on her finger, she fled the shop as if escaping for her life.

In the booth at the far corner of the Xingxin Internet Cafe, exhaustion showed on Xian Yu's face. He withdrew his gaze and dropped into a chair, slowly lowering the pen and paper in his hand. "I hope I didn't scare that customer..."

Though the system hadn't given him any explanation, Xian Yu had experimented with his new ability and used anime from his previous life to get a rough idea of how it worked.

Since he was inexperienced with his Kekkei Genkai, he'd wasted a tremendous amount of energy. He'd just used up nearly a third of his chakra.

Xian Yu found that using the power to turn the unreal into reality out of thin air consumed a great deal of chakra.

No wonder people in the original story used drawing boards.

He'd just used three Kekkei Genkai illusions on that girl. They were like innate abilities—no matter how much someone else wanted to learn them, they couldn't.

The first Kekkei Genkai illusion was Terror Illusion. It could use many different mediums to drag someone into an illusion they couldn't escape, where they couldn't use ninjutsu. Just now, Xian Yu had instinctively sent his mental energy through his eyes and pulled the girl within his field of vision into an illusion. Forcing someone into an illusion like that consumed a great deal of chakra and mental energy. A gentler method would probably use much less.

The second Kekkei Genkai illusion was Illusion Realization. It required paper and a pen to draw the person in question; colored drawings worked better. It could be used to carry out any kind of horrifying attack. This ability already blurred the line between reality and illusion.

The third Kekkei Genkai illusion was Demonic Five Senses. It could control another person's five senses. If they were injured or even killed inside the illusion, the caster could make them suffer the same injury or death in reality.

Combined with powerful mental energy, the ability to control the senses was indeed incredibly overpowered. In the end, it was a contest of mental energy and chakra.

The problem was that Xian Yu's mental energy hadn't improved. So, based on that, he figured he hadn't obtained Ido.

He didn't know whether Ido in the original story was a case of dissociative identity disorder or an ability hidden in the bloodline of the Kurama Clan. Ido caused its host's mental energy to grow by leaps and bounds every day. It was basically a cheat: you could eat, drink, and have fun all day, and your mental energy would grow on its own! Though Ido would eventually turn on its host once it reached a certain level, Xian Yu had a system with treasure chests and had been transmigrated into this world with his soul intact. His mental energy was already incredibly strong, and he clearly had the least to fear from mental backlash. Too bad he hadn't obtained Ido. Otherwise... he'd probably be able to defy the heavens by now...

The one silver lining was that Xian Yu hadn't obtained Ido, but he also hadn't inherited the Kurama Clan's frail body... He'd simply gained the Five Senses Control Kekkei Genkai on its own.

"A Kekkei Genkai! I finally got a Kekkei Genkai! And this one is incredibly powerful! The reason the Kurama Clan declined in the original story was that their physical constitution was too poor. The last member of their family to awaken a Kekkei Genkai was so frail she couldn't even become a ninja! Otherwise, at least when it came to illusions, even the Uchiha would have to take second place. If my mental energy gets strong enough, I might even be able to kill Kaguya... Uh, right, that's still a very, very long way off."

The blood in Xian Yu's heart began to stir. "I, Shimura Xian Yu, have finally turned my life around! I'm going to rise to the top!"
