As for why Uchiha Yue wanted to deal with the Sage of Six Paths, it was related to what he needed to accomplish.
With the Six Paths Purple Eye, coupled with the abilities of the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan—especially after studying the Death God's energy—Uchiha Yue knew that perfectly resurrecting his father, Uchiha Nara, and his mother, Uzumaki Minako, required extensive preparation. Among those preparations, reclaiming the souls of Uchiha Nara and Uzumaki Minako was the most important thing he had to do.
Uchiha Yue's father, Uchiha Nara, had taken his own life, so his soul was in the Death God's grasp. In other words, if Uchiha Yue wanted to reclaim his father's soul, he had to defeat the Death God head-on and force him to hand over Uchiha Nara's soul.
As for the soul of Uchiha Yue's mother, Uzumaki Minako, it
