In the Land of Rain, Nagato had stayed shut in his room ever since his return. Konan had no idea what he was doing. Today, he finally emerged, accompanied by the Six Paths of Pain under his control.
When Konan saw that the Deva Path Pain standing behind Nagato was no longer Yahiko, she asked in confusion, "Nagato, where's Yahiko?"
"Yahiko's body is in here. I'm going to revive him," Nagato replied, taking out a scroll.

Nagato nodded. "Yes. Come with me." With that, he led the way outside.
Konan followed him with a curious expression. She simply couldn't imagine a way to revive Yahiko while keeping Nagato alive.
Nagato brought Konan to a basement. Looking around, she asked in confusion, "I remember this being Orochimaru's laboratory."
Nagato nodded. "Yes, you're right. This is indeed Orochimaru's laboratory. After he joined the Akatsuki, he carried out his research here. Orochimaru isn't much of a person, but I have to admit he's a genius, especially when it comes to researching ways to attain immortality."
With that, Nagato opened the laboratory door and went inside, with Konan following him. Once inside, she saw all sorts of instruments and various human experiments. The sight made her feel a little sick.
