"You're telling us you have no money?!" The two burly medical workers sprang to their feet, their heads nearly hitting the ceiling of the ambulance. They hunched over and glared at Lu Li in a menacing way. "Kid, you're waiting for someone to save your life, and you still have the nerve to talk back? If you've got money, pay up. If you don't, we'll take you straight to the morgue. Some of your organs are still worth a pretty penny!"
Lu Li looked at the two medical workers, who seemed ready to attack, and smiled. "I may not have money, but these masks of mine are treasures. They're absolutely priceless."
With that, Lu Li untied a bundle wrapped in the clothes and trousers he'd changed out of earlier. Inside were the masks connected to him. Apart from the one he was wearing, there were seven more. With a sweep of his hand, Lu Li spread the masks out, and they floated in midair, emitting a faint glow.
Greed spread across the two medical workers' faces. They reached out, picked up a mask, and examined it closely.
Lu Li's expression grew serious. Masks floating in midair were a supernatural phenomenon in the real world. He'd brought them out to see how the locals reacted to supernatural powers. If they were surprised or afraid, he could use those powers to threaten them. If they acted as though it were nothing unusual, supernatural powers must be common here, so he'd have to be more cautious. He would give them two of the masks that could summon the Shadow Legion.
