"The Shadow Assassin's intelligence level has increased?" Lu Li suddenly had that feeling. The Basic Intelligence Module had been accumulating experience all along, but it was still only experience. When Lu Li gave it an order, it usually just nodded slightly to indicate it understood. Now, though, it had replied directly. Lu Li considered the matter. "The Nine Masks are connected to one another, too. Maybe the nurse joining us strengthened their collective intelligence? I'll have to test it sometime..."
Outside the hospital, the man who might have been a player paced anxiously in front of the entrance, making two rounds. Every so often, he clutched his chest and looked terribly uncomfortable. The Shadow Assassin secretly watched him from the corner of its eye.
When the man looked ready to head for the VIP entrance, a Shadow Dart appeared in the assassin's hand once more. If the man took a few more steps, it would obey Lu Li's orders and shoot him dead. But after hesitating, the man eventually backed off.
Unwilling to pay the price, the man finally gritted his teeth and prepared to force his way through the main entrance. Of course, he wasn't completely mindless. He didn't simply use his ability and charge inside—that would be suicide, not a way to get treated. He wasn't arrogant enough to think he could take on dozens of people single-handedly. Besides, the phantom of the Giant Species still loomed over the elevated highway in the distance, reminding everyone that this world was no simple place.
The man quietly slipped into the crowd and started talking to some of the people who had come to the hospital for treatment. He hoped to rally everyone into a charge against the troublemakers. He was quite persuasive; a few patients' family members were swayed
