Unexpectedly, although Umbrella Man acted with great secrecy, using that strange umbrella to hide within the shadows of time, where he was basically impossible to detect, danger still found him.
Unfortunately, as time passed, the future gradually became the present, then the past. As someone who had completely erased the remnants of his future time, Umbrella Man had pitifully little time left. It was rather laughable—those who wielded time were precisely the ones for whom time was most scarce.
So, in his desperation to survive and light the third candle, Umbrella Man's trail was eventually discovered. The Countermeasure Bureau's reconnaissance capabilities were formidable, especially when targeting someone like Umbrella Man, who was alone and had no organization to conceal him.
Several methods were employed—curses, high technology, prophecy, mediums, astrology, and more. Dozens of methods for tracking people were brought to bear. As time passed, the umbrella's power grew weaker, as did Umbrella Man's own abilities. He was not Lin Fan, protected by an organization like the Ring of Time and Space. Faced with the Countermeasure Bureau's dozens of methods, his tracks were ultimately exposed.
Unless an individual's power surpassed all limits, individuals would always be at a disadvantage against a collective. Before long, on the outskirts of Jade River City, a large number of Countermeasure Bureau members surrounded a small riverside house.
Inside the house, aside from Umbrella Man, there were several others. They were all young men and women, but they looked miserable. Not a single part of their bodies was clean, and their expressions were deeply abnormal.
