The Strange Milk Tea Shop

Time flew by, and half a year passed slowly on Sea God Island.

Na'er had also reached the age to awaken her Martial Soul.

Inside Sea God Island's awakening chamber, a gentle glow gradually spread out. This Martial Soul awakening ceremony was presided over by Ya Li.

Lin Chen stood quietly to one side, already knowing that Na'er would be unable to awaken a Martial Soul.

Na'er buried her face against his shoulder, her nose stinging slightly as she nodded softly.

Watching this scene from the side, Ya Li did not feel good either. After comforting Na'er, Lin Chen took her outside to clear her mind.

She found Yun Ming and told him that Na'er was unable to awaken a Martial Soul.

After hearing his wife, Yun Ming also felt somewhat regretful. Only after a long silence did he slowly say, "Such an adorable child, yet she failed to awaken a Martial Soul. It truly is a shame."

Ya Li sighed softly. "Lin Chen and Na'er are both at the age when they should begin school. There's naturally no need to worry about Lin Chen, but Na'er..."

This sight made Ya Li swallow the words she had intended to say, unable to bear it in her heart.

After remaining silent for a long while, she slowly stepped forward. Suppressing the ache in her heart, she spoke softly, "Lin Chen, Na'er, I need to talk to you about Na'er."

The swing slowly came to a stop. Na'er turned to look at Lin Chen, and Lin Chen gently took her hand. The two quietly listened to what Ya Li had to say next.

Ya Li took a deep breath and slowly revealed their plans for the children's schooling. "Considering that Na'er has not awakened a Martial Soul, your father and I intend to arrange for her to attend a junior academy in Shrek City where ordinary people and Soul Masters study together."

As soon as she finished speaking, Na'er nervously clenched the hem of her dress.

An idea suddenly came to Lin Chen. He spoke sincerely, "Mom, since that academy has both Soul Masters and ordinary people, can I enroll there too and attend school with Na'er?"

Ya Li sighed softly. "Lin Chen, it would be better for you to discuss this matter with your father."

The three of them then went before Yun Ming. Upon hearing his son's request, his gaze first fell on the anxious-looking Na'er, then shifted to Lin Chen beside her.

A smile appeared on his face, as though he had agreed. "All right. Tomorrow morning, let your mother take you and Na'er there to complete the enrollment procedures." He then reminded him, "But remember, you must not neglect your cultivation, understand?"

Na'er raised her head from the side, tears glimmering in her purple eyes as a sweet smile bloomed across her face once more. She could be with Brother Lin Chen again.

The afternoon sunlight was especially warm as Lin Chen held Na'er's hand and headed into Shrek City to buy some things.

Lin Chen led Na'er straight into an exquisite stationery shop, where backpacks of all kinds were displayed on the shelves.

Na'er curiously examined the dazzling array of styles before her. Her purple eyes sparkled, and she was momentarily spoiled for choice.

Lin Chen patiently accompanied her as she looked through them one by one. In the end, Na'er pointed at a white backpack embroidered with silver dragon patterns and said, "Brother Lin Chen, I'll take this one."

Lin Chen immediately nodded, chose a black backpack for himself as well, and then paid without hesitation.

After leaving the shop, Na'er carefully hugged her new backpack to her chest. Her little face was full of delight, and even her steps became much lighter. There was no sign of the disappointment from failing to awaken a Martial Soul.

The two slowly walked along the bustling street, and before long, they arrived at a milk tea shop.

Lin Chen turned to Na'er. "Do you want to try some?"

Na'er blinked her purple eyes and nodded her little head. "Mm!"

The two walked inside and arrived at the counter. Lin Chen said, "Hello, two cups of pearl milk tea, please."

The girl at the counter immediately stated that they did not sell pearl milk tea.

The girl at the counter smiled. "That's right."

"Then give me two cups, please."

"Two cups of what?"

"Sure, no problem. Normal sugar and normal ice for both?" the girl at the counter asked Lin Chen.

Lin Chen asked Na'er, then answered the clerk after receiving her response. "Yes, normal sugar and normal ice for both."

Before long, two cups of QQ Milky Miepu Tea were handed to them. As Lin Chen and Na'er drank, a customer nearby who had bought the same milk tea stomped their little feet and mumbled through a mouthful, "Mmm~ I tasted piggy with the very first sip!"
