I'm getting ready to wrap this up quickly. I started writing in mid-May. I'd been reading happily, got carried away on a whim, and started a book.
As you all know, that's why I kept saying the early parts were rough—I thought they were awkward myself and could barely keep reading.
Thank you to every reader who has stayed with me until now. But after the July earnings came out, I really couldn't keep writing. The numbers were just too poor, and I lost a lot of motivation. I've also been writing while working a job, and it's exhausting.
I'm sorry.
I had originally planned to write around 800,000 words. I was even supposed to go to the Dou Qi Continent.
The fact that I held on this long means I've got quite a bit of perseverance. This book had been a flop from beginning to end, right from the start. On the first day of the trial run, it only got 800 bookmarks, and by the end, only 3,000. I didn't understand any of it and just kept updating blindly.
This book didn't have an outline from the start, since I never expected it to get signed. That made the early plot a mess, and the pacing later on was terrible too. I didn't know how to skip time, so I basically crammed several events together. As a result, one year passed, and the protagonist went from level 38 to level 68.
That was because this book itself was never properly prepared. There was no promotion or traffic support, and the satisfying moments and plotlines were either clichéd or simply nonexistent. Since last month, its popularity had dropped below 100. People were already telling me to cut it then, since anything below 120 meant I couldn't make any money.
