Background / History

Early life and awakening

Lin Huai is a transmigrator whose memories of his previous life return when he is six years old. In his new life, he is an orphan raised through charity in Holy Tree Village. During his Martial Soul awakening, he manifests Malenia, a powerful humanoid Martial Soul, and possesses Innate Full Soul Power. 1

The awakening also inflicts him with Scarlet Rot. The curse leaves visible erosion marks on his body, becomes more active whenever he cultivates, and initially gives him only ten years to live. He spends six months researching obscure records in the Martial Soul Hall library for a cure. 1

Qian Daoliu’s disciple

Lin Huai presents his research on Whale Rubber to the Worship Hall, earning the elders’ attention. Qian Daoliu ultimately accepts him as a disciple and personally supports his search for a way to survive. 2
