Background

Tsunade was living in Tanzaku Town as a compulsive gambler when Fujiwara Chiya encountered her and paid her debt of twenty million ryō. She initially concealed her identity as the famed Sannin, relying on the Strength of a Hundred Seal to maintain a youthful appearance. 63 64

She later became the mother of Chinatsu. Tsunade’s hemophobia, born from past trauma, ceased after Chinatsu’s birth; she attributed the recovery to her daughter’s arrival. When Chiya sought recognition as Chinatsu’s father, Tsunade challenged him to survive three minutes against her. He defeated her instead. 107 109

When Konoha faced the crisis surrounding Orochimaru, Danzō, and the Chūnin Exams, Jiraiya asked Tsunade to return and assume the Fifth Hokage position.
