Waiting for an Opportunity

As White Dragon Port welcomed the assessment, David stayed with his team in a small house at a special placement site. Sitting on his bedroom bed, he closed his eyes and communicated with the demon in his mind.

"I've been watched. The Alliance may be preparing to arrest me."

This was the first time since arriving at White Dragon Port that he had discussed this matter with the demon. The demon, which had wanted to urge David into action, immediately froze.

"I didn't see any Fourth Order mages from The Alliance there. For an infiltrator at your level, wouldn't The Alliance send a Fourth Order mage?"

David smiled, then said,

"Who knows? I don't know what they're doing either, but all the signs point to The Alliance having me completely under watch."
