"Was there another child named Jiang Ming in Jiang Ming's house?"
Chen Ge hadn't expected his offhand question to turn up something unexpected.
"Yeah. I didn't think much of it at the time. I just thought it was strange. But who could've guessed that the child would actually ask Jiang Ming to call him Dad?" The woman with long black hair gave a bitter smile. "I'd never heard Jiang Ming mention this before. We had a very unpleasant dinner that day. When I got home that night, I asked him what the child was to him. He got angry right away and told me not to ask questions."
The woman lifted her head. "Was my request really that unreasonable? If the child wasn't his, and he'd only adopted him, I could understand. But he wouldn't say anything. What was I supposed to think?"
"He probably wasn't his biological son. Why would a father and son have the same name?" Chen Ge hadn't come to hear a love story. Before the woman could continue, he asked, "What did the child look like? Was there anything unusual about him?"
"The poor child was deaf in both ears. He seemed to be kept at home all the time, and he could only say a few words." The woman with long black hair looked worried. "Jiang Ming's family is clearly very wealthy, but from what I could tell, he had no intention of taking the child to a hospital for proper treatment.
