"Have you heard? There was a ghost in the boys' dorm last night! A student who often bullied his roommates was so scared he wet himself and lost his mind!"
"I heard something happened in the girls' dorm. The security camera was blocked by a shadow, but you could still make out faces running into the dorm! The Dorm Manager found a girl unconscious in the hallway early this morning. It looked like she'd been sleepwalking!"
"Right, right. I saw someone being taken to the hospital this morning. An ambulance was parked outside the girls' dorm for quite a while. The version everyone's spreading now is that the student who got into trouble often bullied her classmates, and then she was cursed!"
Several girls huddled together, chattering nonstop. The prettiest one among them hadn't said a word, her eyes full of disdain.
"Chen Wen, you'd better behave yourself for a while. If you go looking for trouble again, you might run into a ghost tonight." A female student with a husky voice and androgynous features spoke to the girl who had remained silent.
"You think I believe in that stuff?" Chen Wen folded her arms across her chest and stood by the back door of the classroom, as if she were waiting for someone.
The bell rang. As most of the students returned to their seats, a plainly dressed girl entered the classroom just as the bell sounded.
She wore nothing but cheap, off-brand clothes and hadn't made any effort with her appearance. Her gaze darted about, and she seemed afraid to meet the eyes of her deskmate, Chen Wen.
When the first period ended, the girl didn't dare go to the bathroom. She stayed in her seat, as if something bad would happen the moment she left the classroom.
