"I feel like you belonged to me in the first place." Chen Ge looked at the head in the glass jar. A very strange feeling rose within him, as if his own head were sitting inside the jar.
The child's mangled face pressed against the glass. He had no eyes; the two black holes in his face stared at Chen Ge.
They stared at each other. Slowly, Chen Ge saw another version of himself in the child's dark eye sockets. His consciousness grew hazy, and the head in the jar sucked away his memories of the past, replacing them with unfamiliar memories belonging to a third person.
"What is he trying to do?" The loss of memory fragments meant gradually losing himself, yet Chen Ge felt no fear or unease. It was as if the two of them were simply making an equivalent exchange.
The gaps in Chen Ge's mind were filled with the child's memories, while the child acquired Chen Ge's memories of the past.
Chen Ge's mind was gradually emptied. The head in the glass jar absorbed every locked memory fragment, leaving only the memories he had already unlocked.
"Could he be trying to unlock the memories in my mind?" Whenever Chen Ge tried to force himself to recall the past, he got a headache. Most of the time, even if he endured the pain, he still
