No one in the room could understand the Little Girl's words. Anyone who would ask to become a Vengeful Spirit's living shadow must be seriously ill.
Even Chen Ge and the others found it hard to accept.
"Is this some kind of unusual trade? You become his shadow, and he makes you his Mannequin." Men Nan's guess was rather dark. He was thinking from the perspective of a typical Vengeful Spirit.
The Red-Clothed Girl shook her head when she heard him.
Behind her, Blood Threads intertwined and spread across the entire room in the blink of an eye, completely cutting it off from the outside world.
Crimson was incredibly powerful. Everyone else present together would not be a match for her, but she didn't seem to mean any harm.
After isolating her room from the outside, she walked over to Chen Ge's shadow. Her hands transformed into countless Blood Threads that surged into his shadow, as if searching for something.
After searching for a full half hour, Crimson furrowed her delicate brows. Lines of bloody text appeared on the walls around Chen Ge.
"I vaguely remember that a Ghost used to live in your shadow. Where did she go? Why can't I find her? Did you lose her?"
Faced with Crimson's three questions in a row, Chen Ge looked baffled. "There used to be a Ghost living in my shadow?"
"Mm." Crimson wove words out of Blood Threads to communicate with Chen Ge. "People without shadows don't live long. That's what Patient Number Two said."
"But my shadow's right here beside me, isn't it?" Chen Ge asked, confused.
"Everyone and everything on Liwan Street has a crooked shadow. Only you and Patient Number Two have normal shadows. That means your shadows were fabricated by the world. They don't really exist.
