The diary that had been placed on the lectern to scare visitors became Chen Ge's guidebook for exploring the Haunted House. He stuffed it into his backpack and hurried to the terrifying scene recorded in the second entry.

As Xinhai's most famous haunted house, Nightmare Academy was much larger inside than Chen Ge had initially imagined. It was entirely themed around a Ghost School and covered almost every terrifying school legend imaginable.

"Six whole floors. I'm going to have a lot of fun today."

A big place was good for Chen Ge in every way. He could explore to his heart's content, and if he ever got the chance to merge this place with his own, there would be room for even more terrifying scenes.

The Pen Spirit scene was not far from the classroom where the Freshman Welcome Ceremony was held. Running his hand over the peeling walls, Chen Ge spotted a shabby door at the end of the hallway. A sign on it read "Storage Room."

"The diary says the girl named Die played the Pen Spirit game in the warehouse."

He pushed the door open. Before he even stepped inside, he heard a girl crying.

The sound drifted in and out, and he couldn't tell where it was coming from.

"Is anyone here?"

Nightmare Academy differed from Chen Ge's own Haunted House in one major way: visitors to his Haunted House were free to explore, without guidance or assistance, while most other haunted houses on the market had a fixed route.

He had entered the Pen Spirit scene without warning, and he was worried the actor might not be ready yet, which could ruin his experience.
