Background / History

Jaina grew up heavily protected by her family. Daelin Proudmoore was frequently absent on military business, Katherine Proudmoore was occupied with Kul Tiras's affairs, and her brother died early; the resulting lack of companionship left Jaina especially concerned with others' feelings and searching for security. She initially hid among circles of old books whenever strangers approached. 15

Her Arcane talent led Katherine to support her studies in Dalaran and hire a High Elf mage to teach her Thalassian. Daelin initially opposed her leaving Kul Tiras, though he later began bringing her to Dalaran himself. 50

While still a child, Jaina was taken hostage by a Dragonkin General in Dalaran. She overcame her fear, searched through discarded supplies for the potions Taelan needed, and survived the encounter with his help.
