Master Xu: This Old Man Won't Pretend Anymore-Come! Let's Kill Our Way into the Imperial Palace!
Chuxue remained unchanged.
The smile on Zeng Anmin's face did not fade. He pointed into the room and said,
"Please."
Seeing Zeng Anmin's expression, Master Xu raised his brows. "You don't seem surprised?"
Snowflakes fell within three feet of him, only to seem as though they had struck some obstacle. They were shut out, slowly sliding down along an invisible, supple "wall" in the air.
"I knew after I killed Guan Tiansheng."
Zeng Anmin made the abrupt statement without any context.
Qin Wanyue stood to one side, utterly bewildered.
Yet upon hearing those words, Master Xu's eyes gleamed brilliantly. He then looked at Zeng Anmin with approval.
"This old man knew from long ago that you were clever and quick-witted."
"Compared to you, Heavenly Master, I still fall far short." Zeng Anmin merely smiled and shook his head, then lightly patted Qin Wanyue's arm.
"Wan'er, go to the main hall first. I have matters to discuss with the Heavenly Master."
Qin Wanyue showed no unusual reaction. She gave Master Xu a light bow.
Then she said to Zeng Anmin, "Then I shall take my leave first."
"What a fine girl. What a pity."
Master Xu watched Qin Wanyue's retreating figure vanish into the wind and snow, his voice carrying a sigh of regret.
"What is there to pity?" Zeng Anmin frowned slightly, staring at Master Xu with an unfriendly expression.
Master Xu naturally sensed the sharpness in his voice.
He smiled unconcernedly. With his back to Zeng Anmin, his leisurely voice sounded.
"Boy, do you truly think Emperor Jianhong will let you leave the capital again?"
Zeng Anmin's heart stirred.
He feigned confusion as he looked at Master Xu. "I don't understand what you mean, Heavenly Master."
The wind and snow continued.
The light snow gradually became heavy snow.
