Wang Dong's gaze flickered slightly.
The snow-white nape of her neck inexplicably itched. She really wanted to scratch it,
but held back.
Lu Ran turned sideways,
making room for her,
and gestured for her to come in.
He understood Wang Dong's state of mind very well.
She had suddenly been saddled with such a heavy burden, and the thought that Shrek's honor might end in her hands
was bound to make her anxious.
Before entering the room, Wang Dong glanced discreetly in both directions.
The magnificent corridor gleamed with gold and jade,
and the exquisite floor, carved from granite and marble, was so polished it could serve as a mirror.
Soul Guidance Arrays on the ceiling gave off a soft glow.
There wasn't a soul around.
Feeling a little relieved, she stepped into the dim room.
Behind her, the bright, gentle light was shut out of the room as the door closed.
The light suddenly dimmed.
Only the clear moonlight spilled inside.
For some reason,
Wang Dong's heart suddenly began to race. She instinctively squeezed her soft, rounded legs together,
and found it hard to move.
She blinked her large, pink-blue eyes, her gaze drifting:
"Y-you... why haven't you turned on the Soul Guiding Lamp?"
Lu Ran turned around.
"Because tonight's a full moon, and the moonlight is beautiful."
He walked into the living room.
"I'll make you some milk tea. Something sweet can really help ease your anxiety."
Wang Dong followed him into the living room.
Clear moonlight poured in through the enormous floor-to-ceiling windows.
The golden curtains swayed gently in the breeze. It was hard to imagine that such a light wind could make them move so much.
She turned her head,
and saw Lu Ran's busy figure at the
