Background / History
Yu Xiaogang is a level 29 Soul Grand Master who presents himself as the “Grandmaster,” relying on his Martial Soul theories and social standing as the son of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan’s sect master. He was once Bibi Dong’s first love, giving him influential connections despite his poor cultivation progress. His Martial Soul mutated into Luo Sanpao, a result that fuels his resentment toward more successful mutations. 3 8
At Ye Feng’s Martial Soul awakening, Yu Xiaogang immediately took interest in the child’s mutated Light and Shadow Martial Soul. He declared that its apparent light-and-shadow conflict would make it self-collapse and prevent Ye Feng from reaching Soul Emperor, then offered his own “correct guidance.” 1
Ye Feng publicly corrected his assessment: Light and Shadow was a pure light-element shadow Martial Soul, not a dual-attribute one. When Ye Feng challenged Yu Xiaogang’s lack of successful disciples and exposed his level as only 29, Yu Xiaogang was left humiliated before the Nuoding City Martial Soul Branch staff. 2
Personality
Yu Xiaogang is proud, status-conscious, and deeply invested in being recognized as an authority. He frequently adopts a composed, superior posture—hands behind his back, chin raised—while treating his theories as definitive even when challenged. 1 8 22
His interest in Ye Feng is shaped by envy as well as a desire to validate his own ideas. He reacts bitterly to Ye Feng’s high innate soul power and beneficial mutation, particularly because his own clan-born Martial Soul mutation produced Luo Sanpao. 3
Despite repeated humiliation, he remains obsessive and persistent. After losing his notes and storage Soul Tool, he suppresses his resentment long enough to redraw the Ten Core Theories of Martial Souls, believing that another gifted disciple could restore his reputation. 29 32
