The Power of the Sharingan

After Inoue finished his demonstration, he instructed the students to begin attempting the Three Basic Techniques.

Uchiha Nagi did not attempt it; his chakra was currently somewhat depleted, and even if he were to try, it would not be here at the academy.

According to his ideals, he absolutely could not master the Three Basic Techniques right away; it was best to keep all his performance at a mediocre level.

However, looking at Namikaze Minato beside him, he felt that with the other boy's talent, it would certainly not be difficult to learn the Three Basic Techniques.

But Namikaze Minato's performance did not seem ideal either—was he also hiding his true skill?

Just then, a cry of surprise rang out.

It turned out that Uchiha Enichi had successfully performed the Transformation Technique.

However, even without using his Sharingan to observe from afar, Uchiha Nagi could spot the flaws in the boy's transformation.

Much like Uzumaki Naruto in the original story, when he used ninjutsu, a great deal of chakra would leak out, forming this kind of white smoke that would dissipate in a few seconds.

However, he estimated that all the smoke before him combined probably didn't amount to as much as the smoke produced by Uzumaki Naruto's single Transformation Technique.

"Truly worthy of being Uzumaki Naruto."

Uchiha Nagi shook his head. Although the Uchiha Clan's chakra reserves were not small, they still paled in comparison to the Uzumaki Clan.

He would wait until he got home to try the Three Basic Techniques; he felt that the Sharingan might give him a surprise.

Just then, Namikaze Minato beside him used the Transformation Technique again.

"Hmm?" Uchiha Nagi looked at the other "himself" that had suddenly appeared. Although he could still identify him, it required careful scrutiny, unlike the others who could be spotted at a glance.

The new "Uchiha Nagi" only lasted for a moment before turning back into Namikaze Minato.

"Minato, if the teacher knew of your talent, he would be very shocked," Uchiha Nagi remarked.

Namikaze Minato shook his head: "Nagi, you flatter me. The Transformation Technique is still relatively simple; the Clone Technique and Substitution Technique are much harder."

He was not worried that Uchiha Nagi would expose his talent.

Besides, he only wanted to keep a low profile; it was not that he was incapable of being high-profile.

Uchiha Nagi smiled and shook his head. Namikaze Minato did not have the reputation of a young genius like his future student Hatake Kakashi, yet he joined Team Jiraiya immediately after graduating from the academy.

This suggested that Namikaze Minato was likely very low-key at school, only revealing his true talent when he graduated directly into the wartime era.

"The Fourth Hokage is also the type to play the pig to eat the tiger."

Finally, Uchiha Nagi returned home.

Looking at the empty house, Uchiha Nagi sighed; he didn't know how long Uchiha Eri's mission would take this time.

Generally speaking, genin missions were not overly difficult, and they could return in a few days, but if there were any accidents along the way, a month or two was normal.

"Time to try the Three Basic Techniques."

Uchiha Nagi took a deep breath. The flow he had seen earlier using the Sharingan surfaced in his mind, and he began to mobilize his chakra, replicating Inoue's method one-to-one.

However, Inoue's speed was very fast, and to ensure the effectiveness of his replication, he naturally slowed his own pace.

Finally, Uchiha Nagi formed the Ram seal.

"Transformation Technique!"

The next moment, there was no smoke from leaking chakra, only the sudden appearance of Uchiha Eri in the room.

Uchiha Nagi looked at "himself" in the mirror, a look of surprise appearing in his eyes. He had actually succeeded; one had to know that the height difference between him and Uchiha Eri was quite significant.

And this was perhaps only because his chakra control wasn't quite there yet; if his chakra control were superior to Inoue-sensei's, wouldn't the effects be even better when he performed ninjutsu using the teacher's methods?

Once his chakra control reached an exceptional level, he wouldn't just be copying ninjutsu—he would be able to surpass their original power.

"However, while the proficiency copy is the credit of the Sharingan, the precise control of chakra is my own innate talent."

Uchiha Nagi nodded with satisfaction; it seemed his talent for chakra control was quite decent.

As for the Transformation Technique, as long as he practiced it a few more times to get familiar with it, his proficiency really shouldn't be any worse than Inoue-sensei's.

"This feels great; I've just saved myself over a decade of practice that an ordinary person would have to go through."

Inoue-sensei might not have high proficiency in other ninjutsu, but given that he specialized in teaching the Three Basic Techniques, his proficiency in them couldn't possibly be low.

Immediately after, he attempted the Clone Technique and the Substitution Technique, both of which succeeded on the first try with equally high proficiency.

"If we're going by the assessment standards, I should already be able to pass the exam. Graduation right at the start of the school year?"

Uchiha Nagi couldn't help but chuckle; putting a Two-Tomoe user into the first grade was, as expected, far too overpowered.

It was just a pity that, for the sake of a peaceful life, he couldn't afford to show off such genius.

As a member of the Uchiha Clan, being too outstanding wouldn't exactly be welcomed by the Hokage faction.

And since he had no desire to get involved in the messy affairs of the Uchiha, he had no choice but to continue hiding his true strength.
