A Change of Face

After two rounds of brutal beatings, Manda had probably accepted reality.

He could call to the heavens or the earth, but no one was coming to help.

He could not even return to Ryūchi Cave. Unless he gave up some venom, he probably was not getting through today.

"Why didn't you say so sooner?"

Xuanye reached out and pried open Manda's mouth, which had been beaten crooked. A foul, fishy stench wafted out, making Xuanye frown.

After wrapping himself in a protective barrier, Xuanye roughly exposed Manda's venomous fangs.

Manda was in an agonizing position, but he had no choice but to lie on his side and let Xuanye do as he pleased.

One fang, larger than Xuanye's entire body, lay exposed. Purple-black venom began to seep from it.

Manda could not resist. If he tried anything now, Xuanye would knock out one of his fangs.

He would rather die than suffer that humiliation.

Xuanye called out to Orochimaru in the distance:

"Orochimaru, how much venom do you need? Come collect it yourself."

Orochimaru walked over with a broad smile. Seeing Manda in such a miserable state filled him with satisfaction.

You never listened when I spoke to you nicely before.

Now that you've met someone with an even worse temper than yours, you have to behave yourself, don't you?

Lord Hokage was right. Manda just needed a beating.

Orochimaru wasted no time. He took out a sealing scroll, pulled out an assortment of containers, and began collecting Manda's venom.

These were no little glass test tubes or flasks. The smallest container he brought out was the size of a water jar.

At the sight, Manda finally understood why Uchiha Genya had summoned him.
